PAT BRADY WINS THE REUBEN!

The cream of the nation's cartoonists congregated inScottsdale, Arizona to honor the year's top cartoonists at the 59th annual National Cartoonists Society Reuben Awards, The profession's highest honor, the NCS REUBEN Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year, went to PAT BRADY, creator of the syndicated comic strip "Rose Is Rose."
The Society's Milton Caniff Lifetime Achievement Award went to legendary cartoonist and author, GAHAN WILSON. In addition, cartoonists in a dozen different fields were honored in the Division Awards:

Book Illustration: GEEFWEE BOEDOE
Newspaper Panel Cartoon: MARCUS HAMILTON
Television Animation: CRAIG McCRACKEN
Feature Animation: BRAD BIRD
Newspaper Illustartion: MICHAEL McPARLANE
Gag Cartoons: ROBERT WEBER
Newspaper Comic Strips: GLENN McCOY
Magazine Feature/Illustration: JACK PITTMAN
Advertising Illustration: MIKE LESTER
Comic Books: DARWYN COOKE
LARRY KATZMAN, Milt Gross Fund and former NCS Treasurer was awarded the Gold Key Award for his outstanding service to the Society.
